On Wednesday 31st January 2018, Network Rail issued an update to the PADS Acceptance Certificate (PA05/04078) for the CommScope BUDI range kitted specifically to Network Rail standards by Passcomm.
The up-issue states ‘Requirement to house the equipment in temperature controlled environments has been removed in light of qualitative and experiential testing that shows full performance in conditions without climate control.’
This means that the complete BUDI range has been accepted for use in non-climate controlled environments. As referenced in the up-issue, this has been prompted by data which shows that Network Rail accepted optical connectors do not require a temperature controlled environment.
