The Universal Rack, FIST-UR is an all-purpose metal rack to accommodate the FIST fibre management system in an exchange, head end or customer premises environment.

The unit has the following features:
• A solid, 400mm deep rack
• Various sizes to accommodate low, medium and high fibre densities
- Height: 2.2m
- Width: 0.8m, 1.0m and 1.2m
- To accommodate metric, 19” as well as 23” shelves
• Horizontal and vertical pigtail management for storage of patchcord overlength
• Horizontal and vertical pigtail storage for excess patchcord length
• Bend control on all fibre routing
• A structured division and distribution of the cable loose tubes
- Equipment mounting brackets
• Easy access to cables and patchcords during installation, maintenance and upgrade
• Easy adaptation to specific applications by variation of the rack configuration
• Available with metal or transparent doors
 
FIST-UR is typically used to accommodate splicing and patching shelves such as:
FIST-GSS2 (Generic Splicing Shelf)
FIST-GPS2 (Generic Splice/Patch Shelf)
FIST-GMS2 (Generic Mixed Shelf)
