Description:

The FIST-SB2-8 is a small wall-mountable customer fibre termination box, offering the functions of splicing fibre-to-fibre, splicing fibre-to-pigtail and connector patching.

The FIST-SB2-8 provides mechanical and environmental protection for both the fibre and its components and permits appropriate access while maintaining the highest standards of fibre management. The product is typically located on the customer’s premises, but can also be used outdoors in above-ground applications or in street cabinets.

The unit has the following features:
• Compact and modular wall-mountable customer termination box for up to 8 connectors
• Suitable for splicing cable-to-cable and cable-to-pigtails or a combination of both
• Pre-determined loose tubes and fibre routing
• Fibre splices can be managed in single circuits using the FIST-MK2 organizing system
• The patch panel can accommodate
- Connector adapters with retainers for most common connector types
- Kevlar termination units (KTU’s) to provide the necessary strain relief when using pigtails with connectors outside the box
• Cable entry/exit possible from bottom, top and side
• Unique wraparound pigtail seal
• High seal rate (minimum IP55)
• UV resistant and low smoke zero halogen housing
• Box dimensions 255h x 180w x 90d

Scope of Acceptance:
1. Used as a wall mounted enclosure for terminating telecoms optical fibre with pig tails and to provide a patching
point.
2. Only to be deployed within environmentally controlled locations such as REB, telecoms room etc
3. Has a maximum capacity of 8 fibre terminations
4. The FIST SOSA2 splicing tray (PA05/1737 ) shall be used within the FIST-SB2-8.
