Description:
During installation, maintenance, rerouting, or restorations it is often necessary to isolate a specific fibre without disrupting service. The Fujikura Live Fibre Identifier is a rugged, easy-to-use installation and maintenance instrument which identifies optical fibres by detecting the optical signals being transmitted through a single mode fibre. By utilising local detection technology (nondestructive macro-bend detection), the unit eliminates the need to open the fibre at the splice point for identification; eliminating the probability of interrupting service.

The Live Fibre Identifier detects CW light, traffic signals and modulated tones at 270Hz, 1000Hz and 2000Hz and can ascertain signal direction.
 
The Live Fibre Identifier is also available with an in-built Optical Power Meter for accurate power loss measurements down to –60dB.
