POINT SYSTEMTM Media Converters/Network Interface Cards
Designed for operation as part of the Point SystemTM, a full range of High Speed Serial based media converters and Network Interface Devices (NIDs) are available. The NIDs provide remote OAM/IP based management. Transmission is fully compliant to the relevant HSS standard. Incorporating an SC duplex interface, these media converters are designed to operate on all types of multimode and singlemode fibre in accordance with ISO11801.
Bi-directional versions are
also available, allowing single fibre operation. Standalone Media Converters

Standalone Device Servers Designed for standalone operation, a range of High Speed Serial based device servers are available. Realise the benefits of fibre optic transmission by converting serial transmission onto a Fast Ethernet link. Incorporating an SC duplex interface, these media converters are designed to operate on all types of multimode and singlemode fibre in accordance with ISO11801. Two versions are available, standard and industrial (0 to 70degC) depending on teeh operating environment required.
